What To Expect

Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong (100 km / approx. 3 hrs)

Fact

  • Meet our representative at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station
  • Begin your journey towards the Scotland of the East – Shillong

Stops:

  • Umiam Lake (Barapani) – Serene blue lake ideal for photo stops and water sports (optional, extra cost)

Evening:

  • Check-in at hotel
  • Explore Shillong’s Police Bazaar and local cafes
  • Try Khasi cuisine or grab coffee at Dylan’s Café

Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji (60 km / approx. 2 hrs)

Fact

  • Post breakfast, head towards Cherrapunji, once known as the wettest place on earth.

En route attractions:

  • Duwan Sing Syiem Viewpoint

In Cherrapunji:

Day 3: Trek to Nongriat Living Root Bridge (Tough trek – 6 hrs round trip)

Opinion

  • A must-do for adventurous travelers with good stamina.

Early morning departure for:

  • Nongriat village (approx. 1 hr drive + 3000-step trek)
  • Visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, a marvel of bioengineering

Optional:

  • Continue trek further to Rainbow Falls (challenging)

Return:

  • Trek back by late afternoon
  • Evening at leisure

Day 4: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong (170 km round trip)

  • Short village walk and tea break
